How can I increase the speed of the tensile sample in Abaqus Implicit?

Hello,

I'm trying to increase and decrease the speed of a tensile sample I am simulating. The simulation involves UMATHT (hydrogen diffusion) and I am using Abaqus implicit/ Standard.

If I maintain the same displacement, is it enough if I just change the Step time to higher or lower time (for example from 15s to 150s)?

I am expecting to see that when lowering the speed the mechanical properties of the sample decrease because the hydrogen has more time to diffuse.

Hi Ana,

The information you provide via the *Mass Diffusion option tells Abaqus how long you want for hydrogen diffusion. As you say, a longer time period will allow more hydrogen movement to occur.
