In general we talk too much about organic farming, without knowing the main basis. So much so many firms/farmers claim to have very high production and also demonstrated. But the scientific explanations are lacking in most of the cases. It is well known that without proper nutrition we can not go for good harvest which require nutrients through cheaper sources. Also we can not introduce organic farming in each and every crops. Thus first of all priority may be fixed and the crops may be decided. cultivation of several cereal crops are not at all economic as the MSP is quiet low. Thus there is an urgent need to save the farmers welfare.
If proper market facilitation is provided, farmers can benefit from Organic Agriculture. I have seen it in Organic Cotton. Has huge global demand.
There were times when we lived close to the nature with access to flora and fauna in healthier and cleaner surroundings. With the passage of time, we shifted ourselves towards revolution, discovery of modern day fertilizers, synthetic chemicals used in crops resulted not only sufficient yield but also enough for exports. But, in the recent past, specifically in last two or three decades, the problems of conventional chemical based farming has been felt. We realized this to be self destructive as well as unsustainable as it reduces the inherent capacity of soil and also creating hazards to the beneficiaries who consume the food resulted from conventional farming. Hence, we are again thinking to go back to our roots, in organic cultivation.
First of all, the principles of organic farming ensures the soil health as well as consumer's health. Besides that, it is considering ecological sustainability. But, here the problem is poor yield. We should remind one thing, an overnight changes in the scenario is not possible when you are changing a conventional method. We should wait and give time. Organic cultivation can't provide the equal yield as compared to conventional farming but it ensures the quality of produce and also maintaining soil health. Not only that, it has been observed that although during the conversion period yield gap is high, but after a certain period of time (suppose >3 years), the yield gap is nearly 10-20% only. That much gap also can be mitigated with long term cultivation. See, with this method, yield gap can also be mitigated with patience and the quality will be ensured. Farmers can also be motivated from the results of organic farming in countries like Australia, USA. How they could sacrifice their profit for initial years to get a long-term benefits in their lifetime. It's just like an investment in bank insurance.

Nice question and its the call of the time. It is time to bring some crops , geographical location , and in acluster mode to promote organic farming amongst farmers . but ,we should not forget , we direly need on-farm model of crop-based organic cultivation to make it sustainable. Is it possible to have MSP separately for organically grown crops..??
There is a need as well as a demand for organic farming. Govt can make separate prices like MSP and other things to encourage organic farming. It is not viable for small farmers. Medium farmers and large farmers can go for that.
As an Agro Entrepreneur, while deciding which crops to grow depends on how you will be ready to handle the climatic conditions and the soil requirements' as well as the abundance of water. However, non-toxic as well as natural farming management should be adopted while selecting the required amount of micronutrients and pesticides. In a professional manner in terms of natural farming, need to schedule crop plan according to market demand and as if to go with agricultural transformation, need to combining modern farming technology with traditional farming technology. Also, It needs to be planned and managed while to adopt the one where production costs can be reduced, and plan to use only required fertilizer doses which should be organic or mineral-Mixture based nutritious avoiding harmful quantity of chemical fertilizers and residue free preventive pesticides without disturbing the soil fertility. That means as per the agronomy guidelines only it can be use to achieve quality incremental production in a timely manner. It is advantage if the consumer is fixed in advance for such quality healthy production to make the cropping system remunerative.
There has to be some incentive to farmers to feel duly encouraged for organic growing , an hiked MSP for organically grown crops separately could really do the world of good for organic agriculture
Organic farming should be done through supplying organic nutrients in different forms...like bulky, concentrated and liguid organic manures in an integrated way to meet the crop nutrients demand.. recommended NPK through completely from organic sources...this will help the soil to supply nutrients throughout the crop growing period and also crop to uptake nutrients from different sources as per it's requirements
