Dear Colleagues,
I have been trying so hard to get more Muslims American take my survey on Islamophobia. Although it is considered as a hot topic in the media, not many Muslims are willing to take the survey. size is too small (about 400 thus far)
I need a good sample size to have a good analysis.
I contacted major Muslim organizations, used email blast, contacted people via social media and still the sample
Any other ideas?

Changing the word Islamophobia may be helpful. There is possibility of triggering a pre-emptive reaction!
I agree with Riaz. 'Islamophobia' is charged with all kinds of inbuilt assumptions as all concepts invented by the media are. The antipathy towards Muslims is complex and varied. It ranges from outright bigotry and hatred to all Muslims, which is a manifestation of simple racism where Muslim becomes synonymous with outgroup or 'other' to fear of a particular stereotype.
Virtually all of what is described as 'Islamophobia' is based on ignorance of Islam and the huge variety of people who practice it as a religion. What is remarkable is that many form opinions on Muslims without having any personal experience of meeting them or experiencing the hugely varied cultures that are encompassed within it.
A survey that is based on a complex or challengeable predicate is unlikley to return significant data

I agree with both of you. Unfortunately, it is too late now to change the word Islamophobia, especially after receiving about 600 surveys.
Let's hope we get what I need and maybe next time I seek more advice before I launch out the study.

If it is an internet survey, why not just cast the widest net possible and have everyone complete it. Then, limit your data set for analysis to those who indicated that they identify as Muslim American.
Is that a possibility?
