One method that I have used is to heat zinc metal to generate zinc vapor in H2. Then you can use the zinc-laden H2 to generate ZnO in a H2 flame.

do you know aout FSP method?

Yes. I almost forgot - we did use FSP to generate ZnO nanoparticles, and created gas sensors using the nanoparticles. Check out the attache paper.
