I have bought new Electro chemical work station, i want to know how to make WO2 sample preparation for Cyclic voltametry and nyquist and bode plots. we have three electrodes.
glassy carbon - working electrode
Ag/Ag+- Reference electrode
Pt - Counter electrode
How to make WO2 paste for coating on Glassy carbon electrode. which solvent dissolving agent. I have liquid electrolyte for supporting electrolyte.
WO2 is insoluble in most solvents so you can make a paste of it by say triturating it in DCM solvent with polystyrene. Polystyrene goes into solution in DCM and you can add requisite amount of WO2 in it to make a paste and you apply this paste on the tip of your GCE , allow to dry. Use this modified electrode in aqueous medium. One has to select the binder and solvent based on need and here I have provided just one example with polystyrene ( readily available ) and dichloromethane . The nature of homogeneous paste and amount of WO2 on the tip will be crucial and to make it optimum requires art in science.
