We are trying to prepare silver nanocrystals, and then try to work on its formula.
The problem is, after the synthesis, we are not able to obtain the crystals to the best of our liking. We obtain a precipitate everytime, which we do not require, by using Toluene, Hexane and ethanol in tuned quantities and adding it to the solid powder and keeping it in the deep freezer.
Can someone suggest a good method to obtain the same? Thank you!
Will you please provide more details? Precipitation might be caused by incorrect concentration of reactants/surfactants/stabilizers. Even temperature and pH may affect your results. If you provide more details then we can rule out some factors and improve your synthesis.
