I want to prepare iron nanoparticles for the purposes of demonstration of nanoparticle action for general public.
Concretely, I want to show people how reactivity of iron is gradually enhanced by decrease of particle dimensions. I want to show that iron wool can be ignited by firestarter, but nanoparticles will autoignite in air without outer source of flame.
Could somebody recommend a simple method for preparation of suitable iron nanoparticles?

I will recommend you simple biogenic synthesis of Iron nanoparticles from weeds, which is the most simple, environmental friendly and cheap. Attach herewith is relevant publications, just follow their simple protocols. Thanks
Additionally, do anybody have an idea/literature on how to prepare Al or Mg nanoparticles, also in a simple method. Here I don't need very sharp distribution of particle size. I need only nanoparticles able to autoignite in air or O2 stream.
