Is there anyone use Daonil tablet (glibenclamide) to treat mouse as control in diabetic research ? Please tell me how did you prepare it ?
I used Daonil 5 mg/tablet by powdering the tablet and mixing the powder with water to make solution before feeding mouse by gastric gavage. Is that way possible?

I do not think you can fully dissolve sulfonyl ureas in water. So I would use PBS, Tween 80, PEG400 or even corn oil. Hope that helps.
In my opinion, it is better to incorporate 5 mg of the drug in wheat flour and shape the wet mass into pellets to be taken by mice. In think, mice will take it as routine diet.
Crush the DAONIL tablet or may be more tablets.
Take the amount equal to 5mg of glibenclamide or whatever dose you have calculated.
Add some water and administer it to mouse orally.
Solution is not necessary.
If we incorporate required amount of drug in wheat flour and masses then it will be difficult to ensure whether the complete drug has been utilized or not. Moreover, it will influence the absorption somehow.

Try dissolving in any edible oil. This would enhance the bioaccessibility of the drug much more than water.
I am also agree with Abdul Khan sir. You can use wheat floor, edible oil to dissolve drugs. As per your view, You are going to dissolve tablet in water and then converting tablet into solution, this solution you are feeding to animals. This approach will works when you are going to study effects of drug only. But if you want to establish effect of dosage form, then this approach will not work.

May be I failed to understand the question properly, but embeding drug either into oil or in some pellets will influence the absorption of drug; and if I can recall correctly glibenclamide belongs to class 2 according to BCS classification, where solubility is already compromised.
I understand that you are not using API but the 5mg tablet therefore, feeding the crushed tablet of glibenclamide suspended in water should be sufficient for the purpose of diabetic studies.
