Dear all, I am working in a research institute working on clinical data. My boss decided to gather together data from all institutes across the country. Anyone has any experience to share? Where to start? Which software is better choice?
STATA software is very user friendly on panel data analysis. Through coding system you can pool your data by institution, i.e each institution is given a code for identification. Coding enables one to identify country effects and time effects as well. To get more, check on a textbook by Chris Baumol, "Introduction to Econometrics using Stata." It has commands appropriate for panel data regression.
Extending Bonga's comment. In Stata you can either merge data from your various institutes, or append the data from the various institutes. They are slightly different in what is required of the data, but both approaches will result in you having pooled data.
