I would to plot the probability density function curves of ultrafiltration membrane. It is the same paper in attached file (Figure 8 C and D). I have caculated the mean pore size and standard deviation, but I don't know what function in excel to caculate the probability distribution function (pore size distribution). It is the same paper in attached file. Please help me. Thanks.
The probability density function, in this case, follows log-normal distribution- Eq 8 of the attached paper. You could use an Excel function for log-normal distribution. LOGNORM.DIST(x,mean,standard_dev,false).
The LOGNORM.DIST function syntax has the following arguments: X Required. The value at which to evaluate the function. Mean. The mean of ln(x). Standard_dev. The standard deviation of ln(x). false - returns the probability density function vs true for cumulative probability function.
Calculate the curve for a variety of x values (d p in this case) and plot it using standard Excel charts options.
