i have velocity profile data in vertical plane for 5 10 15 20 cm distance away from the wall. now i would like to plot it in single figure showing the variation of velocity spatially .
since i have 4 different spatial distances and at every point (suppose @5cm) i have velocity profile, there will be 4 velocity profiles in same figure.
the way it would look is shown in the attachment (created using drawing tool),
sample data is also attached, if somebody wants to try on real data.
MatLab plot will be helpful.
Attached is an excel chart for your data, which can be repeated for Matlab, Matplotlib, or any other graphing library.
First, you have to negate the sign of depth values (As I understand that the depth is negative downward, if this is not your case, ignore this step), then plot each series separately at the same curve. You can do the trick by specifying the X-axis data as the velocity, and the Y-axis data as the depth.

Adding to Mohammad, i would propose that you make a three dimensional plot 3D Plot where where the y axes is the wall and the x axis represents the distance moved normal to the wall say 5,10,15 cm etc., while the z axis represent the velocity of the object at any point (x,y). So the plot will be velocity v= Z= f(x,y).

You can plot all the curves in a single frame by giving various colour for each profile. You could simply plot using Microsoft spreadsheet. xls. in your computer
