In addition to what Mario mentioned make sure not to over fill the sump with oil when changing oil and do proper filtering so as not to allow abrasive material from reaching cylinder surface.
1) Cooling system. If cooling system is not working proper then it would result in rise in temperature of water. So, mix a coolant with water.
2) Also by lubricating system. Some of the fuel is absorbed by the lube oil at the space between cylinder and the piston. Temperature of lube oil should be maintained for this purpose other wise it would affect the viscosity of the lube oil and due to which it starts in absorbing more fuel then the normal. Also check the cooling system of lube oil
3) Check the oil rings. otherwise it would also result in increase in the consumption of the fuel.
4) Check the spark timing of the fuel. It should be properly tunned otherwise unburnt fuel may goes into exhaust.
5)Also check the carburetor. If it is not working proper then in case of excess fuel may result in more un-burnt fuel in the exhaust and in other case for more air results in misfire which also result in un-burnt fuel in the exhaust
