Dear all,
I'm modeling a composite slab subjected to fire in Abaqus. I am using solid elements for the slab and beam elements for the reinforcement. Firstly I was trying to use the Embedded between the slab and the reiforcement mesh, but this constraint type doesn't work in thermal or thermal-stress analysis. Wich kind of interaction can I use to model it?
I'll appreciate any help.

Hi! Are you using scripts?. To consider the transfer of heat you can model the steel bars as solid elements and then you can define the contact interaction properties or you can also define the bond slippage between steel bars as truss elements making the concrete dependent on thermal degrees.

I believe that I can use the tie constraint between the concrete of the slab and the truss elements of the reinforcement. However, I think that to do it, it's necessary to create an interior surface in the slab. Does anyone know how to do it?
