I am modeling a deep beam strengthened with CFRP and I used Linear Isotropic for the material property and composite to define the section. But the output I got is not even close to the experimental one. What could be the problem?
The CFRP is Sikawrap Hex 230c, side bonded to the beam.
Hi Seada Mohammed Assen . You have two ways to model CFRP which are micromechanical and macro mechanical. In the first one, matrix and fiber are modeled separately. In the second one, you should model CFRP with orthotropic material. Based on your element, the material model option is different in the property module in ABAQUS.
I modeled the CFRP using shell and the material as Elastic Isotropic with the composite layup as shown in the figure. The interface between the CFRP and concrete is modeled with Tie. The manufacturer's mechanical properties are attached below
Hi Seada Mohammed Assen. This method is not correct to model CFRP. You should use the REBAR layer and so on.
The rebar layer is the method that you can model CFRP Professionally. You can find some information about this meyhod via this link:

Hi, the problem is about material type you defined for CFRP or the contact between it and concrete. Lamina is a good suggestion for CFRP layers.

I think the material property definition may be incorrect. CFRP is not an isotropic material so why define it as such? Lamina or anisotropic definition using engineering constant will do. Thanks
I get similar problem even i have only three properties 230/4900/300g/5.100m
what about the rest parameters eithe for lamina or hashin or damage evolution
