I want to model a bulk adhesive specimen using cohesive element in Abaqus. Do you have nay idea about using the kind of cohesive element that I should use? I mean continuum, traction-separation or gasket. We always use traction-separation behavior for a thin layer of adhesive in delamination or adhesive joint not for modeling bulk Specimens.
Am I right?
It would be helpful if share an article or video related to this subject.

I believe that continuum-based cohesive elements would be the best choice for your model. This method enables you to accurately represent the adhesive layer with its real thickness and material properties. As for validation, I highly recommend automating the process using Python. It can significantly streamline your work and save you a considerable amount of time. In a previous project, I implemented automation and achieved excellent validation results. Out of 2000 jobs, the automated process provided validated outcomes after just 1600 simulations.
