The Impact in the productivity and quality is negative. The humans we are the maximun depredators and the major environmental passive, of course, after a catastrophe in our sun, seismic movements of great intensity, a comet or an meteorite colliding with the earth.

You can start from the FAO statistics and start building your own database. You have to be very careful about the analytical reliability of the data so that you can make a proper treatment of errors, then you can start playing with a statistics program like R.

However, measuring the impact is not easy, for example the impact of agrochemicals, although it is a controversial issue is important to analyze, you can check the following article:

It can also be interesting to attack the issue using simple calculations on food production, amount of water used, cost of production (use of agrochemicals, machinery, etc.) and do so with respect to a graph of demographic evolution. I think it is also interesting to include how technology has impacted new chemicals, seed industrialization, and ecological effects. It is probably the most difficult impact of measuring environmental impact.

In a research project some objectives are set to be achieved. Fulfillment of these objectives is called the output of the project. Now outcome of the project is adoption of the agronomy practices designed through this project. This is also called the impact of the project. For example lf a method of planting has been designed through the project then adoption of this method on a area would be it's outcome and the increase in the production of the crop due to adoption of new method would the impact of newmethod

thank you all for your very useful suggestions and for the papers. 

The idea is to test different types of farming management (traditional, organic and integrated). We are trying to develop a Decision Support System suitable for Integrated Pest Management and we would like to test is if, thanks to this tool, we will be able to reduce the impact from pesticides, the input costs and at the same time maintain high productivity and quality of the final products. 

Therefore, I would like to find the most suitable indicators according to my issue and especially I would like to have indicators to measure:

• Pesticide impact (in terms of pesticide usage, and risk to farmers);
• Energetic efficiency
• Economic productivity
• Quality of the products

Any feedback and/or suggestion are welcome.

You can use Regression and put the productivity as an dependent variable and put the other variable as independent variables and measure the impact after running the model based on a data that you collected from the field or from the FAO STAT.
