i want to measure the capillary length using mini disk infiltrometer and Double Ring infiltrometer.

Dear Aktar, I am of the opinion that a calibrated cylinder infiltrometer should be better than a double ring for this purpose.
If you have a cylinder infiltrometer calibrated at , say, the 20cm level from the top, it can be driven into the soil with a wooden plank placed on it . If water is poured into it and the travelling time to the calibrated level monitored, the stretch of the thickness of the soil forming the infiltrated mass represents the capillary length for the quantify of soil under consideration.
The capillary length is also termed the macroscopic capillary length scale. What you need is either the sorptivity measured at two different supply potentials (eqn 12 of White and Sully, 1987) or the ratio of the sorptivity to water content difference times saturated hydraulic conductivity (see Cook and Broeren, 1994, Soil sci. 157:2-11, eqn 7). The Cook and Broeren paper will provide you with a number of ways of calculating the capillary length scales. You might also find that a couple of other publications Cook (1991, Soil Sci. 152:321-325) and Cook (2002, Chapter 7. In Soil physical measurement and interpretation for land evalutaion.
