Today my own contact person at Mirion/Canberra told me that the spectral data cannot be accessed via the Batch Tools, only by the Genie Programming Library. I find that strange because function like "strip" (for background subtraction) or "normal" (for stretching a spectrum along the energy axis) also change the spectral data. I thought that maybe there is a suitable function within the DLL files in the exefiles folder but without documentation that does not help much.

I decided for a workaround now: I read the spectral data by creating a report (template csv section channel_list); this can be done programmatically with the "report" function. And I write spectral data by firstly creating a tka spectrum (that is basically a list of counts) and then converting it to a cam file with the "filecnvt" function. Finally I transfer the cam parameters such as the livetime from the original spectrum to that spectrum by calculating original_spectrum - original_spectrum + new_spectrum using the "strip" function.

save any spectrum as .TKA and open it as list in Microsoft Excel.You will get a column with counts in channel spectra. Manipulate with data as you want, save again as .TKA. Open it in Genie-2000, save as CAM file.

And voila :) You have a new spectra that you make :)

Thank you for that answer. In principle, That is what I am doing now. However, with this method only, I lose all CAM parameters. Therefore I use the "strip" method on the new CAM file afterwards and calculate original spectrum - original spectrum + new spectrum. By doing so, I transfer all CAM parameters to the new spectrum.

Working with this software I had found a software in c which converted CAM file to TXT. Then These files were treated with GNU Octave and everything could be calculated outside GENIE.
