Please discuss the pros and cons of each option.
Different options:
1. Arthroscopic stabilisation and fixation of the osteochondral fragment. Problem non union as the fragment may be sclerotic, avascular and deformed.
2. Removal of the osteochondral part and replacement of it with mosaic plasty. Potential problem non union of the graft or avascular necrosis of it.
3. Removal of the fragment and microfracture technique. Problem early degeneration due to bad quality of weight bearing tissue.
Personally I would try the second method so I could give a better chance to the joint for recovery
There was a free osteochondral fragment of 3x2cms with some subchondral bone in it. Hence. It was fixed with 3 bio headless compression screws
