In my case, I extract the algae with different solvents( dichloromethane, chloroform, methanol and distilled water) to test on their efficacy for antifungal assay. For the first attempt, I have been testing the dichloromethane extract on fungus. The problem is when i diluted the extract with dichloromethane to set to the desired concentration and mix the extract with warm PDA, then i poured into the plate, but the plate became cracked, also the extract does not dissolve evenly in the PDA.
