I have rectangular open cell Aluminum metal foam. I want to study its application as an heat exchanger. However, I am unable to make the parallel plate connections on its surface accurately.
How can I make the plate connections in order to get maximum cells connection with the aluminum plates.

@Mykhailo IIIich Fyk sir...I want to make real connections as mentioned in the attached foam. The top and bottom solid plates are required to be connected. How to achieve it ?
Sometimes, the outer surface layer can be compressed (deformed) a bit to give a more flat surface to make the better thermal contact that is desired. Another way (or in combination) is to use thermal grease like is used for heat sinks in electronics or thermoelectric devices (for example, http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm).
