Hi,
I wonder if someone would share experience with building open-top chambers for surface heating of soil. My main question is what material can be used to build them? I found researchers using Sun-Lite HP panels and polycarbonate panels. The former seems to be used more often, but the latter seems to be more readily available.
Any input is appreciated!

Walling will depend on two things: first, the cost and secondly, light penetration. A material that is economically and allows light will be a plastic polythene like the one that is used in green houses. The polythene can be supported by timber frames. Also consider the availability, use something that is readily available and point out the shortcomings if any during the research.
It should be an updated addition of modern agriculture considering cost benefit ratio.
