How many grams of NaNO2 should I dilute in 1000 ml water to produce NO2-N with concentration 3 mg/l? I want to make the calibration curve range from 0- 0.5 mg/l NO2-N from NaNO2, but I don't know how many grams of NaNO2 should I dilute.
Reagent quality K or Na nitrite is a suitable starting material. If you look up the atomic weights of (say) K , N and O that will allow you to calculate the quantity of N in one mole of KNO2. From there the calculation should be obvious.
