Hello,
I am trying to encapsulate an active ingredient through extrusion method. Spheres would later be stored in a liquid carrier. Hence the spheres' matrix must be impermeable to avoid leakage of the active ingredient to the carrier before usage. I have tried several different hydrocolloids such as sodium alginate, xanthan gum, k-carrageenan, locust bean gum, gelzan gum, and their combinations. coating with Chitosan (low and high molecular weight) also has been tried. I was wondering if there is any substance that I could add to my experiment to solve the leakage issue.
Thank you in advance for your time and concidaration
