In Abaqus, I want to create boundary conditions like the example in the attached image. But I'm having difficulty how to make it. Especially in creating continuous loads in the middle of the plate. I have tried many times but still haven't found a solution. I am using Abaqus version 2020.
From my understanding, your intention is to apply a Line load (UDL). However, it's important to note that Line load is typically applicable to beam elements, and you seem to be using 3D brick elements. In light of this, considering the illustration provided, I suggest applying a concentrated force. To do this, while defining the set for the line on the middle partition at the top surface where the load is applied, you can set up a concentrated force. For instance, if you have a length 'L' and a load 'P' for the selected region where you already have applied the load, you can apply 'P/L' as the load on the entire set you designate for it. Ensure that you choose a unit mesh size to accurately capture the behavior. This approach aligns with the behavior of a Line load or UDL acting on a specific line in your 3D model, offering a practical alternative to the UDL application.
Engr. Tufail , I've tried applying line load and also concentrated loads. However, the results were not as expected. Here I using plate element.
