I tried 3-4 times to make TiO2 Anatase (TiCl3 percursor) with 5 hours 500 degree celsius calcination, but the result was always amorphous and then i tried to reheat the sample for 3 hours, but still amorphous. Last semester my colleage tried the same method and succeed. Does anyone know why there is a difference between my result and his result? Does anyone know the most important step to make Anatase TiO2? The following file is the XRD result.
@Thomas Breuer I did the same method as my colleague did. The composition is TiCl3, aquades, NH4OH 25%, Ammonia and HCl 37%. The first step is the mixing of 10 ml TiCl3, 4,7 ml aquades and 3 ml HCl at 45 degree celsius. Then, 20 ml HCl 37% is added. Finally, 50 ml NH4OH 25% addition until the color turns white. That's it and calcination for 5 hours at 500 degree celcius.
