I ask because I recently learned that business is really not for me, and yet I don't want to be a teacher either.
I have a Ph.D. in graph theory and algorithms, and I really like doing theoretical research, but most theoretical research positions I can find require me to also lecture, and I've recently learned I'm terrible at that.

Lectures are a very important part of research. When conducting theoretical research, they are a must because you need to explain your ideas openly and make them clear even to a child. This is very difficult. Additionally, you must write as simply as possible. Most academic papers are unreadable to anyone but the author, which is a poor publication strategy. Clear communication is essential for meaningful impact.
