I find an intrigued gene, a membrane protein, which I think maybe involved in WAT browning and adipose tissue thermogenesis according to other researcher reports. so I want to do a pre-experiment to check whether it's mRNA and protein level is changed in iWAT & BAT when treating mice with 4℃ 5 days. my problem is how to make a 4℃ environment.
I remember long ago in my lab that one of my colleagues has housed rats in a cold room for days or weeks without any problem, perhaps could you try with mice

If you have a small and closed chamber/room or a container or even a big box and ice, you may put on the floor of the chamber some bowls containing water and ice and probably you may keep the atmosphere of the container around 2-5 °c long enough to keep your mice for several days at fairly low temperature by renewing the ice at regular intervals.

Does the temperature have to be so low? There is quite a body of research now which shows that even normal holding temperatures of 20-24 C are too cold for mice, e.g. http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0032799 Being held at such a low temperature will likely be distressing for them. Is it possible to obtain the same results without dropping the temperature to that extent?
It is not difficult to make a cage with copper coil-pipes at the floor and walls. And then start to pumping cold liquid thru these pipes. Antifreeze or alcohol will be best, because temperature of this liquid should be lower, than +4C.
