How to make 20 mM DNPH solution?

I want to prepare 20 mM DNPH solution, having mol. wt. 198.14, in 2M TFA. But the problem is that original DNPH provided by company already contain 30% water. Kindly guide me, whether I should consider original mol. wt. (198.14) to make molar solution or also consider 30% water.

Hello Sandeep, I think you should consider both the molecular weight and the amount of water. If the commercial preparation is 30% 2,4-Dinitrophenylohydrazine and the molecular weight is 198.14, you will require 2.378 mg/ml of the pure compound to make 20 mM. Since it is only 30% by weight, I think you can use 3.33 x 2.378 of the amount = 7.91 mg/ml to make 20 mM.
