I'm using Seisan for Regional earthquakes. I append one event from several stations (More than 3, at list 60) and picked their phase mainly P. But I cant able to locate them. Its showing some strange error. I'm here by posting one screen shot also. But I picked one phase from at least 60 stations. Please help me.
It is a common practice of using only one phase for location of events which many a times leads to error. This can be eliminated by using more phases into your database. For example, try using Pg, Pn and Sg and Sn etc. It is advisable to use the coda too. They will give a better control on your computation yielding a reliable location.

another possibility is that your event is not in the right distance. Seisan has three different event types: T: Teleseismic, R: Regional, L: Local
From the manual:
| R: Rename event type, must be L, R or D
Try to locate as well using different methods:
| H: Locate with Hypoinverse
| HYPO71: Locate with Hypo71
| L: Locate event, will also calculate magnitude if not
If this does not work there are still some other possibilities, e.g. your stations are not defined, which results in missing phases.

I think your stations didnt define well. Please check out your station file.
you must verify if your station codes are in the file STATION0.HYP (this file is in DAT folder).
