In the below attached image, absorption of a sample is increasing from 850 nm and it is continuously increasing upto 200 nm. But my doubt is that where the exact absorption edge is? i need to consider it at 800 nm or somewhere around 450 nm?
From the point of view of the interpretation of an absorption spectrum, the maximum has to be determined from the absorption coefficient (or the proportional magnitude absorbance) as a function of energy (or the proportional magnitude wavenumber).
Once you have drawn the spectrum as a function of the wavenumber, and obtained a first guess of the maximum, you may fit the peak by a Gaussian function. This procedure will lead you to the features of the peak. To do this, you may use Origin, for example. The program will do it automatically.
