Linear Magnetoresistance is commonly observed in a different class of materials like Topological Insulator, Weyl Semimetal, Disordered Semiconductor and Semimetal. But it seems always vague whether the phenomenon is due to inhomogeneity and disorders induced classical magnetoresistance as described by M. M. Parish or due to Abrikosov’s Quantum Magnetoresistance!
Briefly, the origin is undoubtedly quantum, but this does not negate the validity of the classical network model of Parish and Littlewood. Ultimately, the parameters of this model are determined by quantum processes. Compare the present case with that of the macroscopic conductivity of a metal, which according to the simplest model is determined by the carrier concentration n and the relaxation time τ (or the mean-free path ℓ). This model is classical, however while in particular the parameter τ can be treated as an adjustable parameter, its value is unquestionably determined by quantum processes.

Any magnetic phenomenon is quantum phenomenon. Magnetic force can't be explained without exchange force which is quantum in origin.
