I am working on a project which is in correlation with acoustic imaging using ABAQUS. I am having trouble inputting a particular value of frequency in the frequency domain step in ABAQUS. The input frequency should be impinged on one side of the model and I need to get results for that particular value of frequency at different distances from the outer side of the material using ABAQUS. I have attached the model for your reference. Thanks in advance!!
If I understand your question correctly, frequency analysis is not the method you need to use.
You have to do a transient analysis (Implict or explict dynamics).
At the point where the load is applied, you must apply your dynamic signal as a displacement or load condition. To do this, you can use a table in Abaqus, which is your signal over time.
The signal in the point you are interested in must then be stored for each time integration step. As your post processing outside from Abaqus you have to perform an FFT to analyze the frequency properties.
I agree with Christian, initially you should clarify what kind of analysis you want. a frequency analysis will provide you as an output the response in the frequency domain, i.e. a range of frequencies. If you need results for a specific frequency you need either implicit or explicit. Implicit is for low frequencies up to 5kHz and short time, while explicit analysis is for shock events in the range of milliseconds.
In what frequency you need to excite your model, and what time of pulse, (sine, Gpulse etc...)

You need to create an excitation pulse on the input side. The excitation pulse in time domain along with its frequency domain spectrum (by applying a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm) is calculated for frequency of 10 kHz in the attached file (.m file). A setpoint must be defined In order to record the amplitude of the waves, at each point of the outer side (Anywhere you want). Finally the recorded wave must be converted from the time domain to the frequency domain using the FFT code.
An addition to Reza's answer is that you can create any time signal through the Amplitude/Tabular tab.
Yes, you can create an excitation pulse through the Amplitude/Tabular tab or user subroutine VDLOAD.
