Streptozotocin-induced model was used in our department for the last few year. But for the rats, and we were interested in morphology. I can ask my colleagues about experimental protocol if it will be helpful for you.

Just one remark from last conference I was. I had a discussion with chairman, and he has claimed, than streptozotocin-induced model not acceptable from the clinician's point of view, because it does not reflect real mechanism of diabetes development. He reccomended HFHS model. Thus, if you want later to try to link your result in to some clinical aspects, you have to keep in mind this popular opinion.

I am in agree with you. for this reason, we are going to use combination of high fat diet and STZ administration. Thanks again.

Depends on how quickly you need to induce diabetes and what type of diabetes you want to induce. We mainly use Monosodium glutamate, Streptozotocin, Dithizone, Gold thioglucose. Hope this helps.
