Dear Abdelkader, thanks for reply, well i like the oil in room temperature not keeping in cold zone. well i like simple process to thicken the oil same as honey without additives if possible ! i will also look to the thickeners you mentioned so not to change the oil color! thanks again

@Mohamed, your bio-oil viscosity is a fundamental temperature-dependent property of its composition. However, you might find that over time and perhaps exposure to UV light, some of the components begin to polymerise, which would increase the viscosity. I must confess - this is just a guess!

@Mohamed Tawfiq, a reduction in temperature far below 250Oc will do the trick with or without any catalyst or thickeners

Hydrocarbon oil containing water as dispersed phase droplets in an emulsion can have a viscosity many times higher than the oil (see Woelflin or Richardson correlations) until there is enough water that water becomes the continuous phase (ca 40-50 vol% water).

The water has to be finely dispersed in the continuous oil phase using agitation (vigorous stirring like a food blender) or you could try ultrasonic. It's trial and error. Try different amounts of water addition and test the effect on viscosity. Say 1 volume water to 9 volumes oil to give 10 vol% water and so on. The dispersion may settle with time. I would expect the oil would be slightly opaque perhaps creamy consistency, so you would probably lose the 'honey' appearance. If the water was pure then the basic purity of the oil should not be affected. It depends - what is the end use for the oil?
