I would like to use CDM (continuum damage mechanics) for modeling damage in my constitutive model and I need to incorporate a variable (or its effects) into my mechanical damage that doesn't evolve or change by time but changes by other factors (such as irradiation dose or etc..). Does anyone know of a paper which had been used the similar approach? I would really appreciate it if you can provide the link for me because I couldn't find any so far.

we found that a particularly simple way for prototyping damage models is to locally (for each element) update parameters for the plastic flow (yield strength) and the elastic constants according to the local value of the damage variable. Lemaitre’s linear damage law is sufficient for that because you can put any nonlinearity into the definition of the damage variable itself. In the case we were interested in, the change in the local damage variable was linearly dependent on the local strain increment and was a nonlinear function of the current stress state (stress triaxiality and Lode angle parameter). But, the damage variable can be a function of any other factor. Don’t forget a regularization if the damage variable introduces material softening, otherwise you cannot obtain mesh independent results because of strain localization.
