The solubility of phtallic acid is 0,54 g/100mL at room temperature but is 18 g/100mL near water boiling point. So, you can crystallize from concentred solutions by cooling.
phtalic acid (PA) is very slightly soluble in normal water. if you raised temperature of water near to boiling point it (PA) will dissolve like 18g/100ml but in this temperature you have to face some decomposition of material. hence you cant get perfect crystal of PA.in this regard you can prepare solution at 60 degree Celsius it will be optimum temperature for your further growth.
Another method to crystallize phtalic acid from an undersatured solution is by evaporation. To avoid high temperature (see the Jayaramakrishnan coment), you can concentrate the solution by lowering the system total pressure.
