I am having transient steam parameters at inlet of a steam turbine (start up curve). Is it possible to calculate the steam parameters at exhaust by formulation/simulation/open software? I am having exhaust data for steady state condition available with me.
Combined Heat and Power generation (known also as cogeneration) represents
one of the main ways for increasing the efficiency of primary energy use and
consequently for decreasing the CO2 emissions. Cogeneration steam turbines
have a complex configuration and a wide range of possible operation regimes,
depending on the level of heat and power demand.
This paper presents a methodology for predetermination of cogeneration units’
performances, starting from the heat and power demand. The methodology is
used for developing specialized software that can be used during the CHPP
operation. A case study is presented for 50 MW units, which are the most
encountered in the Romanian CHPP’s.

Dear Naveen. For your transient analysis, you can use IPSEPRO. This software is very useful for partial load conditions and it has predefined some steam turbines.
The second options, it may be to develop you own code by using Stodola ( sliding pressure control) law and using any package for steam properties (Coolprop, http://www.coolprop.org/). In this case you have to solve simulateneously some nonlinear equations.

You have here two start-up situations:
1. Start-up with constant parameters (the control valves begin to open sequentely or all together at 75-80 % of nominal admission pressure)
2. Sliding parameters start-up, when the control valves are wide open after 20 % of nominal pressure and the steam temperature higher than the correspondent saturation one related to the mentioned pressure.
It's important to precise if in your model the generator is connected to the grid or it is in the run-up phase.
I don't know a commercial software to do that, but I have create my own programs modeling transient processes of the steam turbines.
First of all you should know the internal geometry of the turbine (volume of internal cavities and main expansion channels - nozzles and blades) and the niminal expansion line parameters in Mollier's diagram.
After that, you can create a model based on the evolution in time of the steam parameters in the "concentrates spaces" of the turbines.
