I have an image sequence with an accelerating object. I want to obtain the trajectory of this object in a separate image, or superimposed on the initial image. Can I do this in Image J or MATLAB?
There are computer vision algorithms that segment moving areas. You may go to the Matlab site and look for the following terms:
Motion detection
Motion estimation
Object tracking
Others
My two cents:
The type of motion and object will dictate the best approach. For instance, to detect a biomarker in motion is different from tracking people.
Does your object have texture? Texture impacts the algorithm.
How about noise?
Do you have a still background?
How do you evaluate the quality of your algorithm?
Is it 2D, 3D, 4D, ..., N-D?
Are you working in the best domain?
Can your motion data be trimmed?
Regards.
Hope this will hlp you.
