I am using a beam splitter as shown in the diagram. I am using a 50-50 beam splitter. Unfortunately apart from the reflection from the mirror I get one more spot on the detector Please see the pic attached. I assume it is due to the reflection. If so how can we eliminate it ? It's of less energy though.

just perform a little tilt of the detector with respect to the incoming beam. Then the reflection(s) from the detectors will have no chance to pass the whole path way from the detector via beamsplitter via mirror and again via beamsplitter to detector.
Just play around with that tilt.

I think you need to tilt the beam splitter and/or move the detector sideways, NOT tilt the detector. The reflection will be from the back side of the beam splitter, so it will be of a few % intensity relative the central beam and move a lot when you tilt the beam splitter. It's like the second order reflection from a window pane that you get from the reflection from the other side facing away from you.

Jitendra, you should use a beam splitter cube (perfectly adjusted within the optical set up) or a pellicle beam splitter.
