For my master research project I'm using garmin tactix delta to measure heart rate. When I download the heartrate data from garmin connect it does so in a fit file, which I can't open. I tried using the software golden sheetah to open it, but then the excel file is empty, while the fit files are not. Does anyone have experience with this?

follow this link and hopefully you will be able to convert the fit file data into CSV and then excel sheet. Make sure you have JAVA installed in your system. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your answer! I think this is only possible for heartrate from activities, while I need all heartrate data from several weeks. I was able to download all heartrate data from garmin connect in a FIT file but when I convert it, it is empty. For activities it does work.
However I think I am getting somewhere by using Fn + F12 so I get the heartrate in a txt file, so the problem is fixed this way.
