Are there methods to measure mice length without giving anesthesia? Mice keep moving when you try to put them against a table with measuring tape, so the normal pratice is to give anesthesia. However, Anesthesia is costly, risky and may have confound the results of blood tests in mice.

Hi ! It depends also how accurate your measurement must be but you could try make the mouse go in a 50ml Falcon tube (with a small opening for the nose for it to breath at the pointed end of the tube). If you have a rather small animal , you may use a smaller custom made tube (not the Falcon 15ml though!). Best wishes
