Hi Swapnil - I just checked this out. Looks like they use the equation constraint to set the voltage potential of all nodes in the set equal to to one node, thus they can prescribe a voltage to one node and it will also set it to all nodes in the set through the equation. Make sense? To get the voltage difference they set a positive voltage to one node and a zero voltage to another node and this sets up the electric field.

For setting electrical boundary condition, it do make sense, but what if I want to get output electric potential across the whole PZT beam if I give harmonic excitation to the beam.

Is there any other way of doing it? As per your elaboration on equation constraint, I think it is not a good idea to use it for getting the electrical output.

I think the equation constraint will work. Think of it as connecting a conducting wire to all the nodes that are in the equation. That's what is being measured. If you wanted individual voltages at each node, such as having wires connecting to each node and measuring them separately then no, the equation constraint is not appropriate. So it really depends on how you plan to measure the voltages in real life and how you plan to connect wires/electrodes and such. Make sense?
