This is only possible in a water-cooled flange with an elastic polymer seal (rubber seal). When using a silicone seal, the temperature in the steel-glass connection can reach a maximum of 200°C.

There are connections between steel and quartz glass without a seal, but not for pipes but for thick and round glass discs that are shrunk into a steel flange. Such connections are sometimes used as windows in steel reactors.
