I have two mouse cell lines generated from the same strain of mouse. I'd like to be able to ID them much like I would with human lines. For our human lines, we would typically do STR fingerprinting. However, because these mouse lines come from the same strain, they are almost identical to one another in their STR profiles. Is there a better way of going about doing this, such as inserting barcodes?
