I am simulating a biomass grinder in Aspen Plus. The feed rate is 100 tonnes per day. Initial size is 200 mm and final size is 40 mm. I am using a jaw crusher type. When I perform integrated economic analysis, it does not give me equipment cost or installation cost of the crusher. What could be the reason. Am I doing something wrong in the mapping?
It gives me two errors:
Rate is out of range and product size is out of range.
How do I know which are the suitable ranges for an equipment?
Have you done a search on equipment to be employed in the crushing of that product? It could be the one not recommended.

Aspen Plus is not a good tool, neither to design crushers, nor to obtain economic data. The best is do do it in the old fashion way to talk with a vendor and to ask for a budget quote

Armando Díaz Concepción The problem is resolved. I was using the wrong crusher. The range feedstock mass flow rate is important.
Bien sure. Mais il est très important de demander un producteur pour un offre. De mon experience on peut apprendre beaucoup de ces offres. Parce que le diable se cache dans les détails.
How to decide which crusher is important for a particular flow rate? Please, suggest.

For every crusher in Aspen Plus, range of flow rate is given. You can choose according to your need. But you should also check if it is suitable for that particular material or not.

Thank you Muhammad Shoaib Ahmed Khan My project is on LCA of pyrolysis of plastic to fuel oil. For that I am doing Aspen plus simulation for generating flowsheet. But I am getting problem at some points: 1) I am not able understand what type of crusher is to be used for shredding plastic. 2) I am using Ryield reactor using component yield as basis. But C and H atom is not balanced. It is coming as warning. Please suggest how to overcome these problems.
For crusher, you need to do some research either a research paper or crusher manufacturer's recommendations.
For mass balance, either you do it manually and put the direct values or you can use a calculator in the Ryield.
