How to find Spectral change vectors(SCVs) of Hyperspectral images?

Let X1 and X2 be two hyperspectral images acquired in a same geographical

area at times t1 and t2, respectively. The SCVs XD is

computed x=x2-x1. But my question is Should we need to subtract the images by spectral wise?

SCVs may be useful for some applications such as hyperspectral data compression. Some of this aspects you can find in dataset https://www.researchgate.net/publication/258286451_Spie_Ers_13_8892_20.
