During any forming operation sheet/blanks are subjected to the load and are required to take some shape.
During such process, thinning and thickening of blank takes place.
Suppose, i am forming a blank of 2 mm thick using any forming operation. what would be the limiting value of thickness, beyond which if the thickness reduces, it can be said that the blank is failed or thinning has started?
How to find out the limiting thinning thickness of a blank during any forming operation?
Does it depend upon strain index ratio or strength coefficient ratio of the blank material?
