I have injected a standard compound with known concentration in GC-MS. Help me in finding the response factor for the same compound in my essential oil, which I have run with the same GC-MS method that I followed for the standard compound. please help me in solving this problem.

usually response factors are determined between different substances, e.g. between analyte and internal standard.
For this purpose, both substances are measured together in known concentration. Afterwards the peak areas related to the concentration are put into relation, which results in the response factor.
As I understand your procedure, you inject a standard with known concentration, where your analyte is the same. That would be an external single point calibration as I understand it.
For better data confidence you should then inject 4-5 different concentrations and set up a calibration function, you then have a safe external calibration.
As an alternative you can also use an internal standard, for GC-MS your deuterated analyte is a good choice. You can then determine the response factor as described above, whereby the factor should be 1, since it is the same substance.

Normally, in case of GC-MS, the response factor is calculated based on the peak area and the concentration of the injected compound. The response factor is the ration between the peak area divided by the compound concentration. The relative response factor (RRF) is estimated by one response factor to another response factors. These RRF is normally used to fin out the impurities of the analysed compound to the primary peak of the desired standard.
