I have load-deformation hysteresis data, it has noise also. initially the cycles are small. I want to find the area under curve (energy dissipated) in each cycle. The data is very large therefore, finding area under the curve for individual cycle is very time consuming. Is there any procedure or tool to find it?

Why not use numerical integration between adjacent data points? Even Microsoft Excel can do this. Import the two columns of load and displacement data into Excel. You can use an "If, Then" statement to search for when the load goes to zero, thus indicating when a cycle ends and the next one begins. There is more sophisticated software out there that can do this more easily but Excel can get the job done.

You are right. I did used this method. Also found another tool (ORIGIN PRO) which made it very easy. I used the area polygon method in it. One just need to enter the data row numbers from which the cycle start and ends. It automatically shade the enclosed area and give the value.
